1066 Mile Charity Cycle

Spex Sponsor 1066 Mile Charity Cycle! Leigh Thistlethwaite and Mark Smith, are planning to cycle over 1,000 miles, a gruelling 75 miles a day for 14 days from John O’ Groats to Land’s End, to raise money for the East Lancashire Hospice.
“This will be one of the most exciting challenges of our lives in aid of a very worthy cause. We are still looking for as much sponsorship money as we can get, help with bike spares, anything.”

Celebrity Awards

National Spex Celebrity Awards! 2004 saw the first National Celebrity Spex Awards and 2006 years event was an even more spectacular success. It may seem a long time off, but we are now open to nominations for next year. We would like to know who you feel looks fabulous in ‘specs’ or ‘sunglasses’. We are open for nominations until late Spring 2011, then in September the Spex Ball will be held at a top Manchester hotel.

World Cup Fever

Spex Opticians catch Worldcup Fever! Staff throughout the Spex Opticians branches have pledged to wear the England kit or St.George designed contact lenses throughout the World Cup to show suppourt for England. This will last throughout the stores while England stay in the tournament - hopeully till the end! COME ON ENGLAND!
